Samsung Galaxy S9 colours revealed? Leak suggests new addition to line-up
The Samsung Galaxy S9 might still be a few months off, but we’re already hearing rumours about the phone’s ruddy colour options.
The smartphone industry rumour mill works in mysterious ways, so you never really know what juicy titbit of information might emerge on any given day. Sometimes you’ll uncover news about a handset’s processor or price – and even the paintjob, it seems.
So it goes with the Samsung Galaxy S9, which is now the subject of a welcome leak over at specialist blog Sammobile. The blog – which is generally very accurate with regards to Samsung leaks – suggests that the Galaxy S9 will be available in four different colour options: black, gold, blue, and purple.
The latter is interesting, mainly because this year’s Galaxy S8 was also rumoured to come in purple/violet variant – a tip-off that never came to fruition.
We should also note that although Sammobile is generally correct when it comes to Samsung leaks, we can’t verify this new information.
Samsung is expected to debut the Galaxy S9 next year, probably just prior to the start of Barcelona’s annual Mobile World Congress tech tradeshow. The conference runs from February 26 to March 1 in 2018, so we’d expect the Galaxy S9 to be revealed on February 25, if Samsung sticks to tradition.
The phone is likely to retain a number of features from this year’s Galaxy S8, including the widely acclaimed Infinity Display. We’re also probably going to see a processor upgrade, with the industry expecting Samsung to utilise Qualcomm’s as-yet-unannounced Snapdragon 845 chip.
