Galaxy Note 9 gets first update from Samsung and it's incredibly useful
Galaxy Note 9 was unveiled at the start of the month at Samsung's Unpacked event in New York City.
The phablet has the biggest screen ever on a Note device with the Super AMOLED measuring up at 6.4-inches.
Note 9's display boasts a resolution of 2960x1440 and a pixel density of 516 pixels-per-inch.
The phablet is stuffed with top-of-the-line specifications that include a Snapdragon 845 processor and up to 8GB of RAM.
Note 9's camera is also revamped from its predecessor - the phone has taken on the Dual Aperture technology first introduced in the Galaxy S9 and attempts to improve it by harnessing the power of artificial intelligence (AI).
Samsung's new phablet comes with two camera sensors on its rear - both are 12 megapixels but one is a telephoto lens to ensure more detail is retained when a user zooms in.
The hardware can also record in slow motion and capture moments in 1080p at 240 frames-per-second or in 720p at 960 frames-per-second.
The latter forms what Samsung is calling "Super Slow-mo camera" and is the target of the phone's first update.
Previously the mode would allow users to either choose between manually recording a short clip or for the phone to detect motion itself and set the timings for the slow motion accordingly.
But now the mode has been given a new toggle that will add a new layer of customisation to slow motion clips, as noted by SamMobile.
Samsung fans now have the option of choosing to record 0.2-second or 0.4-second video in the Note 9's manual mode.
The new update is great for users who may want to capture shorter clips.
The Galaxy S9 and S9+ have also received the new update.
Galaxy Note 9 will release on August 24 and come in two models.
The first will retail for £899 and feature 128GB of internal storage and 6GB of RAM.
But power users also have the option to picking up a variant with 512GB of internal storage and a whopping 8GB of RAM for £1,099.
Express.co.uk has reviewed the device and we were full of praise for the new phablet.
We said: "Don’t, for one minute, think this is a boring upgrade as Samsung has made a truly brilliant smartphone.
"The Note 9 is blisteringly fast, has that giant storage option and a battery that seems to go on forever.
"The cameras are also brilliant and the update to S Pen adds some nice extra touches including that remote control functionality.
"If you want a big phone there’s very little that comes close to the new Note."
