Samsung is discounting some of its nicest TVs for 'Black Friday in July'

Samsung is discounting a few 4K TVs for its “Black Friday in July” celebration. The most affordable of the bunch are its curved NU8500 4K HDR LED TVs, which are both $100 off until 11:59PM ET on July 28th.

Now starting at $899 and moving up to $1,299 for the 55 and 65-inch, respectively, these are currently the lowest prices to be found. It’s not an enormous discount, but if you’ve been in the market for an upgrade, Samsung makes some of the better LCD TVs available, so there should be plenty to enjoy.

Samsung claims that curved screens provide more generous viewing angles than TVs with flat panels. Whether or not you buy that, the NU8500 has a lot of other advantages like auto game mode, which automatically adjusts settings for low input lag. Samsung’s TVs can also act as a hub for the company’s SmartThings line of smart home devices. You get all the essential streaming apps, and Bixby is included as your built-in voice assistant.

Samsung also includes some unique perks, like its OneRemote (which automatically detects and controls other home theater components) and an integrated Steam Link. So you can stream games from your computer straight to this TV without the need for additional hardware other than a supported control method.

Other televisions that Samsung is currently discounting are its 65 and 75-inch Q8FN and Q9FN QLED 4K TVs. Those have received bigger discounts, but also start at bigger prices: $2,299 to start, topping out at $4,999 for the 75-inch Q9FN. You’re paying for substantially better picture quality in either case. To allay buyer’s remorse, the company is offering price protection on both the Q8FN and Q9FN, giving out the difference should the price drop through Black Friday in November.
