Oppo Find X vs OnePlus 6: Price, specifications, features compared

Oppo on Thursday launched its Find X smartphone in India. The smartphone boasts flagship specifications and features while offering a true full-screen experience at the same time.

Oppo’s Find X is the latest entrant in the mid-range category which is currently led by phones like OnePlus 6, Honor 10 and Asus Zenfone 5Z. Keeping its price and specifications in mind, here’s a look at how Oppo Find X compares against OnePlus 6.

Display and design

Oppo Find X separates itself quite distinctly from the OnePlus 6 in the display and design smartphone. It has a full-screen display with no presence of the notch cutout. Oppo Find X also has a motorised selfie camera which pops out once the camera app launches. In terms of specifics, the smartphone features a 6.4-inch Ultra FullView OLED display with 19:9 aspect ratio.

OnePlus 6, on the other hand has a slightly bigger 6.28-inch full HD+ Optic AMOLED display with the same 19:9 aspect ratio. It features a notch cutout on top of its display. The smartphone also features a glass back which is a first for the company.

Processor, RAM and storage

Oppo Find X and OnePlus 6 both run on Qualcomm’s top-end Snapdragon 845 processor. Storage wise, the smartphone offers only one option of 8GB of RAM plus 256GB onboard storage. With the OnePlus 6, users have more options to choose from.

OnePlus 6 is available in three variants of 6GB RAM plus 64GB of storage, and 8GB RAM plus 128GB storage. The Marvel Avengers edition of OnePlus comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

Camera

The motorised 25-megapixel selfie camera of Oppo Find X comes with AI beauty and 3D scan support. At the rear, there’s a dual-camera setup of 16-megapixel and 20-megapixel sensor. The rear cameras feature a dual-lens module along with OIS, and AI scene recognition.

OnePlus 6 also has a dual-camera setup comprising of 16-megapixel Sony IMX 519 sensor, and a 20-megapixel Sony IMX 376K sensor. Up front it houses a 16-megapixel Sony IMX 371 camera with f/2.0 aperture. OnePlus 6’s cameras come with slow motion video recording at 480 frames per second, OIS, EIS, and portrait mode.

Battery, OS and connectivity

Oppo Find X packs a 3,730mAh battery, while OnePlus 6 also uses a 3,300mAh battery. Both phones come with in-house charging features. Oppo Find X supports VOOC flash charging, and OnePlus 6 is accompanied with Dash Charging technology.

On the software front both phones run Android Oreo OS but with custom UIs layered on top. Oppo Find X has the latest Color OS 5.1, and OnePlus 6 runs custom OxygenOS. OnePlus 6 is eligible for running Android P beta. Oppo has also confirmed Android P upgrade for the Find X.

Connectivity options on Oppo Find X include 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. OnePlus 6 offers connectivity options like Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, USB Type-C port, 4G VoLTE, 3.5mm audio jack and dual SIM support.

For security, Oppo Find X offers 3D facial recognition and voice control to unlock the smartphone. OnePlus 6 also offers face unlock and a rear fingerprint sensor.

Pricing and availability

Oppo Find X is priced at Rs 59,990, and will be available starting August 3 via Flipkart and offline stores. Pre-orders for the Find X begin on July 25.

OnePlus 6 is available at Rs 34,999 and Rs 39,999 for the 64GB and 128GB storage variants respectively. The Avengers edition of OnePlus 6 is priced the highest at Rs 44,999. OnePlus 6 is available online via Amazon India and the company’s e-store and across authorised retailers including Croma.
