Oppo Find X Latest Funny Commercial Highlights O-Moji, Apple iPhone X Like Animojis

OPPO Find X

Last month, Chinese smartphone maker OPPO unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the Find X, at an event in Paris. While the smartphone’s motorized camera slider has received mixed response, the O-Face Recognition feature on the Find X is certainly very impressive. The impressive hardware used for the O-Face 3D facial recognition technology also enables the O-Moji feature, which is basically OPPO’s take on the Animoji feature introduced by Apple last year with the iPhone X. OPPO recently released a short commercial in China to highlight the O-Moji feature. The same commercial has now been shared on YouTube.

OPPO Find X: Latest Commercial Highlights O-Moji

As many of you might be aware, the OPPO Find X, which was announced last month, is only the second Android smartphone to feature Face ID-like 3D facial recognition technology. In addition to boasting a highly secure facial recognition solution, the Find X also comes with OPPO’s version of Animated Emojis, dubbed O-Moji. The manufacturer has now released a new commercial that focuses solely on O-Moji. The short commercial shows a group of friends trying to kill boredom by trying out the O-Moji feature at a restaurant. Just like Apple’s Animoji, the various O-Moji characters can mimic your facial expressions, which is what makes them more desirable than regular emojis.

OPPO Find X: Specifications, Features

The OPPO Find X sports a large 6.42-inch AMOLED display with 1080 x 2340 Full HD+ resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It runs on an octa-core 10nm Snapdragon 845 chipset from Qualcomm clocked at 2.5 GHz with an Adreno 630 GPU handling the graphics. Available in a single memory configuration, the flagship OPPO smartphone packs a whopping 8GB of RAM and 256GB of built-in storage. Further expansion, however, is not supported.

Moving on to optics, the OPPO Find X boasts a 16MP + 20MP dual-camera setup on the back with the primary sensor equipped with optical image stabilization and an f/2.0 aperture. The rear camera comes with a slew of AI-powered features like AI Portrait and AI Scene recognition technology. For selfies and video calls, the Find X has a 25MP snapper with an f/2.0 aperture. The cameras on both sides are housed within a motorized sliding top panel. Similar to Face Unlock on the iPhone X, the Find X uses 3D facial recognition technology called O-Face Recognition. Utilizing 3D Structured Light Technology, OPPO claims O-Face can scan 15,000 facial points.

In the connectivity department, OPPO Find X comes with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, USB Type-C port, and 4G VoLTE. Keeping the lights on is a 3730mAh capacity battery with OPPO’s VOOC flash charge fast charging technology. The Find X is quite impressive in the audio department as well with a DSP module and NXP noise reduction. However, the flagship handsets lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack. In terms of size, the Find X measures 156.7 x 74.3 x 9.4mm and weighs in at 186 grams. In terms of software, the OPPO Find X runs on the Android 8.1 Oreo operating system with the ColorOS 5.1 running on top.

OPPO Find X: Expected Price in India, Launch Date

OPPO will be launching the Find X flagship smartphone in India at an event on the 12th of this month, i.e. this coming Thursday. In Europe, the Find X is priced at a whopping 999 Euros, which converts to roughly Rs.80,000. We expect the Find X to be priced at somewhere around the Rs.75,000 mark in India, which would make it one of the most expensive Android flagship smartphones in the country.
