Huawei P20 Lite vs Nokia 7 Plus vs Oppo F7 vs Vivo V9: Price, specifications, features compared
After launching the P20 Pro with a triple-camera setup at the rear, and P20 Lite with dual-rear cameras in Paris, Huawei has launched both the smartphones in India. The Huawei P20 Pro is a flagship smartphone, whereas the P20 Lite sits in the mid-range category. In the mid-range segment, the P20 Lite will go heads on with the likes of Nokia 7 Plus from HMD Global, the Oppo F7 and Vivo V9. Here’s how the four smartphones compete based on their price specifications and features.
Price and availability
The Huawei P20 Lite is priced at Rs 19,999 and will be available to purchase starting May 3, exclusively via Amazon India. The Nokia 7 Plus, will set you back by Rs 25,999 and will be available starting April 30 from Amazon India, and pre-bookings for the same have already started. The Oppo F7 is priced at Rs 21,990 for the base variant and Rs 26,990 for the top end variant. The smartphone can be purchased from Flipkart. Lastly, the Vivo V9 is available to purchase from Amazon India, Flipkart and offline retail channels for Rs 22,990.
Chipset, RAM and storage
The P20 Lite is powered by a Kirin 659 octa-core SoC, the Nokia 7 Plus is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core SoC, the Vivo V9 has Snapdragon 626 octa-core chipset, whereas the Oppo F7 is powered by a MediaTek Helio P60 octa-core SoC. All smartphones are couple with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, along with a microSD card slot for further expansion. The Oppo F7 also comes with 6GB RAM with 128GB storage.

Displays
All four smartphones feature tall full HD+ displays, and while Nokia 7 Plus comes with 18:9 aspect ratio, the P20 Lite, Vivo V9 and Oppo F7 come with 19:9 aspect ratio, and a ‘notch’ on top. The notch houses the front camera module and earpiece. The screen size is different on each phones – the P20 Lite flaunts a 5.84-inch display, the Nokia 7 Plus features a 6-inch screen, the Oppo F7 has a 6.23-inch display, whereas the Vivo V9 has a 6.3-inch display.
Cameras
Today, cameras have become an important aspect of almost all smartphones and the same continues with these devices too. Oppo F7 comes with single rear camera of 16-megapixel sensor, and a 25-megapixel front camera. The P20 Lite, features a dual-camera setup at the back, comprising of a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary depth sensor. Up front, you have a 16-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calling.
The Nokia 7 Plus features a dual rear camera setup comprising of a 12-megapixel sensor with a wide-angle lens, and a 13-megapixel sensor with a telephoto lens for 2X optical zoom and adding DSLR like bokeh effects to your photos. Up front, it comes with a 16-megapixel sensor.
Vivo V9, on the other hand, also comes with dual cameras – a 12-megapixel sensor paired with a 5-megapixel depth sensor, and a 24-megapixel front camera. Essentially, while P20 Lite and Vivo V9 secondary cameras only add depth of field effects to photos, the secondary sensor on the Nokia 7 Plus helps with optical lossless zoom.
Battery, connectivity and OS
All four smartphones runs Android Oreo out-of-the-box, with respective OEM over the top customizations. Nokia has gone with stock Android One program, Huawei has EMUI 8.1 custom skin on top, Vivo has FunTouch OS, whereas Oppo has ColorOS skin on top. In terms of connectivity, all smartphones feature dual SIM card slots, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 4G VoLTE and GPS.
To keep things ticking, P20 Lite comes with a 3,000mAh battery, Nokia 7 Plus houses the largest 3,800mAh battery of the four, the Oppo F7 packs a 3,400mAh battery whereas the Vivo V9 packs a 3,260mAh battery.
