OPPO R15 Design Confirmed By Ads, Display Notch Included

The OPPO R15 has just surfaced in two new Chinese ads, giving us all a pretty good idea as to what to expect when it comes to its design. OPPO released a first teaser image for the OPPO R15 and R15 Plus recently, and in that teaser, the company showed off a render of the device, and along with that, it confirmed that the OPPO R15 will sport a notch at the top of the display. Well, these two new adds more or less report the same thing, while they also give us a good look at the phone itself.

Both of the ads that you will find embedded down below are party-themed, and it’s obvious that OPPO is aiming at younger generations with these ads. It’s not uncommon that ads run in China even before a certain phone gets announced, which is why these two adds popped up. If you take a closer look at the device shown in those ads, you will notice that the back side of the OPPO R15 resembles the back side of the R11s quite a bit. There are two cameras included on the back of the OPPO R15, and a fingerprint scanner is placed there as well, along with the company’s logo. The device is made out of metal, while you can check out both its Red and Black color variants in the provided ads. Bezels are really thin on the OPPO R15, and the notch is considerably smaller than the one on the iPhone X, though it’s still quite distracting.

Needless to say, the back side of this phone also resembles the OnePlus 5T, as the OnePlus 5T is almost identical to the OPPO R11s as far as the design is concerned. The OPPO R15’s display sports rounded corners, and the design as a whole resembles the OPPO R11s a lot, it would be hard to differentiate the two phones if not for the notch on the OPPO R15. Now, according to a rumor that surfaced earlier, the OPPO R15 will be fueled by the Helio P60 64-bit octa-core processor by MediaTek, a processor which was announced a week ago. That is kind of surprising, as OPPO usually utilizes Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chips for its R-series of smartphones, but we’ll see what will happen. The OPPO R11 was announced back in June last year, but considering that OPPO already started teasing and promoting the OPPO R15, chances are that the OPPO R15 will launch before June, same goes for its ‘Plus’ sibling.
