Oppo F7 with an iPhone X-like notch may be unveiled in India on 26 March

Chinese smartphone company Oppo is all set to launch its new flagship smartphone, the Oppo F7 in India. A successor to last years flagship, the Oppo F5, the new smartphone is likely unveiled on 26 March.

Oppo India teased the new smartphone in an image, revealing the name and also the design of the front of the phone in a post on its official Twitter handle. According to a report byGizmo Times, the company had initially tweeted out the image with a caption that revealed the launch date as well but was later taken down.

Based on what we can make of the teaser image revealed by the company, the Oppo F7 will come with a tall full-screen display with a notch similar to the Apple iPhone X. While Oppo does not reveal much about the device itself, we also gather that the company has roped in a cricketer as the product ambassador.

In terms of rumoured specifications of the Oppo F7, a report byThe Economic Times reveals a clear image of the front of the device. The report also states that the Oppo F7 will come with a 6.2-inch FHD+ display with an impressive screen-to- body-ratio of 89.09 percent.

The report adds that the Oppo F7 is likely to pack an octa-core MediaTek SoC with 4/6 GB RAM and 64 GB of onboard storage which can be further expanded with the help of a microSD card. The image of the phone also reveals the presence of a 3.5 mm headphone jack on the bottom of the device.

The F7 is also expected to pack a 25 MP front camera with AI capabilities that enhance the quality of selfies. The front camera will also likely feature real-time HDR, an enhanced beauty mode and AR stickers. The company has not revealed any detail about the upcoming smartphone at the time of writing except the tweet asking users to guess the name of the cricketer.
