Rumor: OPPO's New Flagship To Sport Extremely Fast Charging

Back in February 2016, OPPO announced its ‘VOOC Super Flash Charge’ at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, and it seems like this technology may end up being implemented in one of the company’s devices soon. OPPO’s smartphones are currently equipped with VOOC Flash Charge which utilizes 20W charging, and can charge up a smartphone from 0 to 75 percent in 30 minutes, while OnePlus devices use similar charging, though it’s called ‘Dash Charge’. In any case, VOOC Super Flash Charge is considerably faster, it lets you charge up a 2,500mAh battery from 0 to 45 percent in only 5, while it will take only 15 minutes to get it to 100 percent. According to the source, this technology has been improved by the company considerably since it was announced back in February 2016, and it may be ready for primetime.

If OPPO ends up including VOOC Super Flash Charge in one of its phones, that will be the fastest charging method in smartphones by far. VOOC is currently leading the pack, same as Dash Charge, and VOOC Super Flash Charge is considerably faster, so… it will be quite lonely on the top if it becomes a reality.
