Oppo launches A83 with bezeless display

Oppo has tailored the A83 for outstanding performance with 3GB of RAM, three independent card slots and 3180mAh battery

Jan 26, 2018-Oppo, one of the top smartphone brands in Nepal, has launched its latest entry level smartphone, the A83.  The company will be offering the A83 in two colour variants: Gold and Black. Customers can purchase the latest A83 for Rs24,990 from offline stores across the country.

Although the A83 is billed as an entry level smartphone, Oppo has packed in high-end features more commonly found on vastly more expensive smartphones. The A83 is equipped with a full screen display—a design feature seen on the top smartphones in Nepal like the Samsung S8 and S8+.

Oppo has also embedded their AI beauty recognition technology into the A83 to provide a more realistic and natural selfie experience to its youthful customers. The company is looking to make their latest A83 smartphone this generation’s selfie expert. It sports a 8 MP front camera and a 13 MP camera on the rear to take advantage of the AI technology. This allows the smartphone to automatically improve the customer’s selfies and photos, claims the company.

The company likens their AI beauty recognition technology to a thinking photographer rather than a rigid software programe. Oppo employs a cloud database from premium suppliers that have sufficient power to support diversified facial recognition in smart terminals. The AI learns from imaging data to classify, recognise and beautify the portrait in three aspects: skin colour and texture, gender and age.

The AI will automatically and intelligently optimise the photo as if a professional had shot it, reads the press release.

Oppo has managed to fit in a 5.7 inch screen in the A83 that is no larger than smartphones with traditional 5 inch screens. This is due to the extremely thin bezels that line the front of the display to provide an incredibly wide visual experience,

states the company. Currently, the only other smartphones in Nepal that use a similar ‘bezeless’ display are the expensive flagship phones. This means that A83 customers can experience the great display technology at an affordable price.

Another trick up Oppo sleeve is the inclusion of face unlock on the A83. Users will be able to unlock their new A83 by just looking at the smartphone without worrying about aligning your finger or wet hands. This feature also makes it easy for the elderly and children to use the smartphone as well. According to the company, this is the convenience of advanced technology that Oppo brings to all its customers.

The look of the A83 is inspired by UFOs (UFO Curve Design Philosophy). The streamlined design of the flying saucer is incorporated for a more solid edge, with subtle yet sturdy arcs that make the phone look more dynamic. Its homogeneous look, along with its pearlescent and sparkling finish is a perfect blend of technology and fashion. This results in the A83 looking like a premium and elegant smartphone that will appeal to the sense of aesthetics of young people, reads the statement.

Oppo has tailored the A83 for outstanding performance with 3GB of RAM, three independent card slots (double nano-sim cards plus sd card) and 3180mAh battery.

CEO of Oppo Nepal, Bobby Zhao was pleased to launch the A83 and said, “We are really grateful for the continuous love and support from our customers. Through their love and support we have been successful in establishing Oppo as an established brand in Nepal in such a short span of time. We really hope this support will continue and we will receive similar love and support for our new product Oppo A83 as well.”
