Oppo A83 launched with 5.7-inch fullscreen display: Price, specifications and features
Oppo A83, the smartphone that was expected to launch on January 20, has been launched in the country. Oppo A83 with full screen display is priced at Rs 13,990 and will go on sale starting January 20. The smartphone follows Oppo F5 and F5 Youth with bezel-less design and will be available from both offline as well as online retail channels.
Oppo A83 was launched in China last month, and the company isn’t wasting any time in bringing the device to the Indian market. The biggest selling point of the device is its edge-to-edge display design with support for the 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone will be available in Champagne Gold and Black color options.
Oppo A83 specifications and features
In terms of features, the Oppo A83 sports a 5.7-inch LCD display with a Full HD+ resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels. Powering the device is an octa-core MediaTek 6763T chipset clocked at 2.5GHz coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. There is also support for expandable storage up to 256GB via microSD card slot.
On the camera front, the Oppo A83 features a 13-megapixel rear camera capable of taking multiple shots to recreate a 50-megapixel image in Ultra-HD mode. The rear camera uses a f/2.2 lens and is aided by a dedicated LED flash. The smartphone also features an 8-megapixel selfie camera with support for AI-based beautification mode that was launched alongside Oppo F5.
Oppo A83 also features a face unlock feature that uses the front camera to unlock the device by detecting the face of the user. It’s not as secure as a pass code, but will be useful since the smartphone lacks a fingerprint sensor. It supports connectivity features such as WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and 4G LTE.
The Oppo A83 runs ColorOS 3.2 based on Android 7.1 Nougat and is backed by a 3,090mAh battery. The dual SIM smartphone supports fast charging and will compete against Honor 7X, which also features a fullview display and is cheaper than Oppo’s offering.
