Oppo to launch selfie expert F5 in Nepal

Nov 9, 2017-Oppo, the ever-evolving global smartphone brand is set to launch their latest smartphone, the F5 on November 14 to capture the selfie market in Nepal. The F5 looks to further strengthen Oppo’s position in the domestic market as the ‘Selfie Expert and leader’, reads a press release. Pricing has yet to be announced.

This device has been designed to meet the demands of its ever-increasing fan base in Nepal. The F5 will be the brand’s first full-screen model in Nepal. According to the company, the phone will also come equipped with an industry first artificial intelligence (AI) technology for capturing perfect selfies. 

For the first time in Nepal, AI is being used to improve photos taken by the 20 Mega-pixel (MP) front camera, reads the press release. Oppo mentions that the AI will utilise information from a massive global photo database to beautify a selfie shot taken by the Oppo F5. The release adds that the  phone sports a 16 MP rear camera with f1.8 aperature to ensure bright and clear shots even in dark settings.

Oppo is also looking to provide F5 users with immersive visual experiences. The company has also equipped a vibrantly colourful 6 inch screen that goes right to the edge of a sleek unibody.

Powering the Oppo F5 is an octa-core CPU with 4GB of RAM to handle smartphone operations from speedy surfing to continuous chats and eager gaming with ease. 

The company claims that the energy-saving microprocessor will keep the device cool even during heavy use. 

The Oppo F5 comes with a triple slot tray that supports two nano SIM cards plus one microSD card. This allows users to expand the phone’s storage by up to 256GB.

On the software front, users will be greeted by Colour OS 3.2—a brand new design interface based on Android 7.1. According to the company, the phone promises a fluid user experience from brighter looks to greater security. A new function being introduced on the Oppo F5 is facial unlock. This feature allows users to unlock their device by simply putting their face in front of the front camera. Users can also choose to unlock the phone using the fingerprint reader.

Another useful software feature present on the Oppo F5 is the ability to use apps in split screen mode. The company states that users will be able to launch apps such as YouTube, Facebook and more simultaneously, boosting efficiency.
