Oppo: Cat sent home

Geelong defender Tom Stewart has been sent home from Simonds Stadium after reporting in sick.

"Gastro, food poisoning ... one or the other, so hope I'll be right," the first-year player told reporters as he left the club on Monday morning.

Stewart joins teammate Tom Longergan on the sick list.

Longergan, who was a late withdrawal from the clash with Sydney on Friday night, was again sent home on Monday morning after just 15 minutes at the club.

"I think it's just us two at the moment … bit of quarantine," Stewart said.

In better news, Stewart said scans on his hamstring "came back positive" and he expected to be right to play in five days' time.

The Cats face Adelaide in a Preliminary Final on Friday night at Adelaide Oval.

The Geelong team is scheduled to travel to Adelaide on Thursday afternoon.
