Technology recently met fashion when local fashion designers showcased their creations at the OPPO F3 Black Limited Edition launch.

Models took to the runway to show off the designers’ outfits at Radison Blu Hotel on Wednesday evening at an event that saw top celebrities and personalities in the media and entertainment industry attend the shindig.

The designers were Ian Omondi and Brian Matthews of Taisere Design, Hellen Githinji from G_by Githinji and Carol Oyugi of House of Korasewn.

CREATIONS

Majority of the creations on the runway seemed to follow a colour theme, black, from the suits to the dresses. This was inspired by the device’s matte black colour.

“This is a great opportunity to work with a company like OPPO because it is my first corporate collaboration. I’m excited that they believed in me,” said Hellen Githinji.

“It’s also fantastic for the fashion industry because it shows it is growing and the opportunities are endless. We usually just have stand-alone fashion shows but to combine a show with a phone launch says a lot,” She added.

The event was however not a flawless affair as sound issues kept emerging and transitions from one designer showing to the next stalled for long moments leaving awkward gaps in the show.
